Ekphrastic poetry anthology: call for submissions

The Ekphrastic Review is seeking submissions of poetry exploring the theme of “Symbolism” for their anthology, The Metaphor Tree.

Poems must be ekphrastic, i.e. “creative writing inspired by visual art”, and should be submitted by 1 May 2026. “The poem can be about any painting or artist, or the art can be a springboard for your imagination”. Up to 5 poems can be submitted. Prose poetry is welcome.

Selected poems will be included in a paperback and PDF version of the anthology. Accepted authors will receive a virtual PDF copy of the anthology.

Submissions should include the title, artist, nationality of artist, and date of artwork creation, along with a link to the image. Simultaneous submissions are accepted. For further information about submissions see here.
